  • Q. Does liposuction get rid of cellulite?

    A. Cellulite is a term used to describe the dimpling and irregularities of the skin due to aging and genetic factors. It occurs more frequently in women than men, and is usually most obvious in the lower torso, buttocks and thighs. Cellulite occurs when the skin loses elasticity and fatty deposits develop close to the skin's surface. Liposuction may soften the appearance of cellulite in some cases -- usually younger patients, however liposuction is not intended to address cellulite. It is a condition that has yet to have any tried and true results in research. If you are interested in liposculpture but have concerns about cellulite, you should address this directly in your initial consultation.
