  • Q. How much does fractional CO2 laser resurfacing cost?

    A. The cost of fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing varies based upon the geographic region of the country, whether your procedure is performed in a private surgery center or hospital, and the extent of laser resurfacing you request.

  • Q. Is fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing permanent?

    A. While fractional lasers can take years off your appearance, improve your overall skin texture and tone, you are still aging. However, several factors will affect how you age and maintain your appearance. These factors include your diet, exercise, lifestyle, use of sunscreen, not smoking and moderate consumption of alcohol.

  • Q. What is fractional laser skin resurfacing?

    A. Fractional skin resurfacing (Matrix CO2 fractional laser) is a very effective procedure that provides moderate to dramatic skin improvement without surgery. Fractional lasers have been developed because of the satisfactory effects of the original CO2 laser, with the intention of limiting the downtime. Fractional CO2 lasers work under the same principle of the original, but the twist is that the fractional lasers do not ablate entire layers of skin. The fractional lasers actually work by using a dot matrix that leaves some upper-layer cells intact, and those cells will catalyze the healing of the cells treated by the laser. The results are more moderated, but the downtime is considerably different: The original lasers were 6-9 months with continued redness, the fractional lasers allow much less downtime (2-4 weeks) with some residual redness.

  • Q. What is the recovery like for a full face fractional treatment?

    A. The recovery time will depend upon the depth of treatment and your natural ability to heal. During the first week of recovery, you'll experience erythema (redness) that is the result of increased blood flow to the treated skin. Initially, you'll also experience some swelling, oozing and there will be a subtle grid pattern that is the result of the microscopic fractional sites. The oozing and grid pattern will subside, but you may experience redness, that will soften, for longer than your actual in-home downtime. This, too, will subside and is easily covered with make up. Our aesthetician will teach you how to cover the redness if you like. In your consultation, you will be able to see the stages of recovery in our photograph album.

  • Q. What are the risks of fractional laser resurfacing treatments?

    A. During your recovery, you'll experience redness, swelling, oozing and notice a microscopic grid pattern to the treated sites that is the result of the microscopic fractional sites. These an expected part of the healing process, and so they are not considered risks. Correct care of the treated skin during the recovery period and ongoing use of sunscreen are keys to optimal results. Hypopigmentation (a lightening of the skin), infection and scarring are risks, but very rare.

  • Q. Am I a good candidate for a nose job?

    A. Rhinoplasty, or nose job, is ideal for healthy, phychologically stable men and women who seek improvement but not perfection in their facial appearance.

  • Q. What are the benefits of a nose job?

    A. In addition to improving overall facial harmony and appearance, rhinoplasties (nose jobs) also can improve self-esteem and confidence, enhance your appearance and improve breathing.
