Body Contouring and Liposuction

Most men and women have stubborn areas of their body that are resistant to exercise and diet. Heredity and gender are two major factors that dictate body areas that retain fatty deposits (aka adipose). Men are frequently concerned about their love handles, abdomen and chest areas. Women tend to have trouble with thighs and saddlebags, abdomen, hips and buttocks.

Liposuction surgery is the definitive option to reduce fatty deposits in most areas of the body. Liposuction is also commonly incorporated with face lifts and neck lifts to reduce fat under the chin and accentuate the jaw line. Performed in our private surgical suite, the tumescent technique is combined with local/IV sedation to create a safe, comfortable experience for the patient.

To be considered an appropriate candidate for liposuction, you must first be sure to be in overall good health. Additionally, you must be sure to have retained skin elasticity. For optimal results, candidates must be close to - or at - their ideal body weight. It should be noted that liposuction surgery is not a replacement for healthy diet and is not a cure for obesity!

Approximate recovery time is a few days to a week, and you may return to unrestricted activity at two weeks. As with any cosmetic procedure, recovery times vary with the extent of surgery, the attention the patient pays to post-operative care and follow-up, and patient's genetic healing abilities.
